Ok 5500 stall trimatic ant gonna like everyday driving that i might need to start doing soon, soooooooo....... I would love a r154 or any strong 5sp but they arn't cheap.
Would a standard or rebuilt 4sp manual of some sort be a good option for my 200rwkw 308?????
Know a bit about 5sp but nothing about 4sp's so need all the help and opinions i can get, and who better to ask than you lot!! :spoton:

Price ranges would be good too, so i can see if is worth purchasing a 4sp and building it strong or just get a strong 5sp to start with.

Also just a though, with a proper warm up say 5-10min should driving the car more be that bad for it????
Cheer all

T10 and Toploader are both strong 4 speeds, expect to pay anywhere up from $1000 for a Toploader and $2000 for a good T10. I would go the T10 myself but if money is a concern go the Toploader, the other 5 speed option is a good second hand Tremec, but you will still be paying big bucks. A V8 T5 would probably handle that power as long as you don't thrash the box, they can be hand for around $1500 in Perth.

buy a good box to start with. You end up paying of one in the end. You break a cheap box, and have to buy another. Why go to job and saved your money, then drive out the gate and break it. Better to not go to work

If lhmusl, do not take this then I would be interested. Does it have the speed sensor. I have moine stolen from my VR SS.

You can make the aussie four speed handle this but it is an expensive enterprise. And no this does not mean removing the holden lay shaft and using a ford toploader one. Many people beleive that this strenghtens the aussie box but will last a short period of time.

You would be better looking at a jap box of some description as they run tighten tolenances that usually will give you better shifting and higher strength. The biggest issue is not teh power the motor puts out but the torque!

Cheers

dont waste your time with a saginaw, if you get a muncie get a fine spline M21 or M22 Rockcrusher, although your talking $1500 for an M21 and more like $3000 for a rockcrusher.

Super T10 is over $2000 for complete setup.

Cheapest setup is a Toploader.
