Seriously considering a set of these for my LC, is this an absolute no for street use or just a compromise on ride quality?

Ride quality is affected, but they are dangerous in the wet. If you are going to use them fit other shocks when use the car for normal driving.

Drag race only!
I bought a set back in 1982 for my SL/R5000, not knowing what a dangerous thing I was unleashing on the world.
They are purely for straight-line driving and are for weight transfer to the rear wheels. The front comes up FAST, then takes forever to come back down.
Bad.....VERY BAD! :banghead:

I had some Pedders 90/10's in my LJ back in 2007-ish and they werent too bad on the street. Everybody I knew told me the car would be horrid to drive but they were quite pleasant. I ended up changing them out in 2009 because the urge to go drag racing went away. I still have them somewhere, they only did a few thousand kays on the street. If anyone wants them make an offer.

I'm running 90/10's in the hatch, they are awesome fun off the lights but not so awesome come time to hit the corners, the weight transfer is not good, but in saying that I can't really go chucking mine thou a corner any faster than about 40kmph the little 165's just wanna go straight,
End of the day it's down to personal preference, your level of comfort and most importantly your driving conditions, went for a drive through the hills to the Murray river last weekend it was a very slow drawn out drive until the straigh lines appeared.

Cheers

Yeah.....they were great when used as intended.
I actually fitted them to another LH that we raced on the street at Brickies, Carter St and Davis Rd and they helped a lot, but it was essentially a drag car with number plates anyway.
I was just thinking ..... I think I still have them in one of my parts boxes deep in the back of the shed. I might find them and throw them on MR BAD for fun. (And probably quickly remind myself why I took them off).
:driving: :furious: :banghead:

Just grab a set from jets or summit, prolly a half the cost of pedders... the 68 camaro use the exact shocker as the torana LH &LX
and if LC/LJ are the same as LH/LX then the camaro ones will fit every torana

Cheers
