Hi all, today i fitted the front bumper on the SL/R and I noticed that it sits more to the left .needs to shift to the right about 5 to 6 mm . I know the holes are slotted in the bumper brackets but I just cant get it to move over enough, any tips?

Slot the holes further ?

Maybe your cars had a hit and the fronts not straight

From what I've seen, 5 to 6 mm difference is very common.

If you're trying to make it perfect, perhaps grind 2-3mm off the side of the bumper bar bracket and put a washer/spacer on the other bracket to re-align it.

The brackets are very thick and yes I know it will weaken it, but it's a quick fix.

The brackets that the bar irons bolt to are adjustable, loosen them off (two on the rail, two under battery/charcoal canister & one on the radiator support) & you should be able to move the bar slightly either to the left or right. If this doesn't correct the problem, one or both of the bar irons could be bent as mentioned above.

^^ I had the same issue when fitting my bumpers. The best way is to have two or more people and have the bolts in loosely. Then get the helpers to 'force' the bumper until its straight then tighten it up.

Yep 100%, I get some shots out in the sun when she's done , we have green sky lights in the shop so it's messing with the color .

jesus mate.
Sorry i just got here. Could have saved you a heap of trouble and time.

There is nothing wrong with the bumpers mate, the cars in the wrong spot. Just move the car over to the left and your sweet.

No, don't thank me.

All part of the frustration of watching you almost at completion while i'm still waiting on paint ! :banghead:
