have you tried asking covs
or another holden dealer...not all charge from memory
but if they are adament to charge you a cd changer is cheaper

or you could spend hours/days/years running through every 4 didget combo in the world

If you put the wrong code in it will come up with "8 SAFE" get it wrong again and it will be "7 SAFE" and so on. Each time it takes longer to allow you to try again. If you get to "0 SAFE" you are in the shit.
So for anyone who also has to enter the code after diss-connecting the battery don't just put in random codes. and if you got the wrong one find out the correct one before trying again.
I'm currently at "4 SAFE" and it's taking forever to allow me to try again. PITA as we are trying to sell the car

Someone on here linked me to a UK site, & i had the code in 1/2hr.
Ford wanted to pull the dash & remove the stereo to retrieve the code. Seems their records didnt go back that far. Mums Laser was 5yo & bought from the same dealer new.
But as i said, i've never been charged for a radio code at Holden. It takes them 2mins of pc time to get it.

Works everytime, the only thing you have to be careful with is that the leads don't slip off.its very easy if you have someone else with you.

Yes, but I'm waiting for it to allow me to try the new code.so you have the code???
I initially got given the original code that came with the car. I have since found out that the radio got replaced at some stage.

To get the code to be able to be re- entered the radio must be left on undisturbed for a period of time with the Key on the first click.
