You need to remove both number plate mounts .... try to get hold of a spot weld removing tool or just drill out welds and remove both mounts and reweld up holes thats all i did

Normally you just bend them back and spoiler fits over the top.

Fit the two bolts through the hole in the top of the brake duct first. Bolts go through about 3 layers of body panel.

After problems with secure mounting of the spoiler I ended up using the old number plate mounts bent to a suitable angle to mount the spoiler in the middle. Much more solid, and the number plate on top hides the bolts.

That is how it was done on mine...

on a9x and l34,s and original fitment on lh slr5000 all used the same
two piece spoiler, not cut for slr5000,no flared guards
number plate tabs either bent back or cut in some cases
a new number plate bracket was then added to
the front spoiler
i think reda9x was making them at one stage?
i am not good at this but will try to post a pic

Pictures by RedA9x from this thread. You can see the number plate tabs. The Wilsons spoiler I bought came with the number plate bracket. I removed the number plate tabs for a better fit.

Picture from parts manual looks to show number plate tabs bent back in section D-D.
