Hi, there is a XU1 for sale over here and I just wanted you guys to have a look at the tags to see if they look like they line up.

man thats a early LJ. theres a tread at the top for XU1 numbers to run them by HG350

1st month 72
adelade body number 21 [21st lj gtr or xu1 shell built at adelade plant].
numbers look ok but please verify with hg
also without the fisch you cant tell if numbers are gtr or xu1 :<_<:

I don't know if the engine is genuine or not. It has a 202 in it.

dosnt mention block or head casting but does say this

Yella terra steel fly wheel
-Romac harmonic balancer
-Blue motor crank and rods, all shot peined and balanced
-ARP conrod bolts
-Head done by Cylinder head specialists Chch - Manley stainless valves, roller rockers, screw in studs.
-race pistons.
-Extractors HPC coated

Get the #'s checked by all means, but I'm sure you will find that the first batch of LJ xu-1's down the line wasn't until feb "72 and they were brisvegas built.
So that would make it a GTR.
Nice car ... how much they asking?

The only reference material I have on the XU1 comes from the "By the numbers" section of the australian muscle car magazine. It lists the different runs of XU1 numbers. one batch goes from L193821 - L206360 and this cars vin fits in that range so it may be right.....but I'll wait for the numbers to be confirmed by HG350.

The VIN plate looks dodgey to me ?

the first lot off numbers ie 82911 were stamped seperate to the last lot so it is quiet common for them not to line up.
if all the numbers didnt line up then you would be worried :spoton:
