Have been told by Dellow conversions that a t5 from a falcon ranging from xe to early series 1 au will fit without cutting tunnel, just need new bell housing

I got a ford T5 fitted behind a 304 in my LX. The fords are a shorter box than the Holden T5's, which puts the gear selector in a more suitable location. The box fit fine although I had to install the bell housing to the engine separately, before putting the box in. Also the selector sat about an inch or so further back than the tunnel hole, so I had to do a little "clearance trimming" to make it fit.

I went through Dellows for the entire conversion, bought a hydraulic clutch setup as well. Great quality and the guys there are really helpful. Don't expect too much change from $1000 though, and that's assuming you already have the gearbox... You can save some money if you can get your hands on a cable clutch setup, but they are getting harder to come by..

...Oh yeah, you'll also need to get a Holden v8 flywheel, as well as Holden pressure plate, and a ford clutch plate.

Hope this helps..

The difference between the ford & holden T-5, is the input shaft & rear extension housing.

If you use the commodore box, you get a correct input shaft, matching bellhousing, & don't have to mix & match clutches.
