In the last year i have rebuilt the front end in my uc and replaced the diff.
The car seems to be sitting higher on the drivers side front and rear by a noticable amount. as far as i can tell the srings are seated right.

as im going to get a roadworthy on the car sometime in the next few months i need it fixed does anyone have any advice on this?

It is important that you find out which end of the car is the problem, for example raising the r/h front of a car will lower the l/h rear , and raising the l/h rear will lower the r/h front. It may help if you swap the rear springs over (which is easy to do) and see if it makes a difference if it does not then you have a problem in the front . I have found bent and poorly adjusted swaybars can cause variations between sides before too.Your measurements should be checked from the centre of the wheel to the guard before and after.

I have the same problem on the LX after changing both front and rear springs, so will be watching this for an answer also

need some further advice on this.
i've changed a dozen or so front and rears over the years and the young blokes LH has me stumped.

Car was flat before we started.

I've removed and replaced the k frame with a new k frame that i have bench restored.
Diff also in and out.
Brand new lovels springs all round.

Car got dropped on all fours a week or so ago and sits on a shocking lean.
Clear inch and a half up in the front left
down a half inch right rear.

done the usual, jacked back up , confirmed springs sitting over the fingers correctly, springs sitting on the locating holes in the same spots.

bounced the bejesus out of it.

can't see 40mm of cockup in it.

has me stumped.

Maybe swap the springs left to right and see if the lean goes with them ? At least help narrow it down a little bit perhaps.

Make sure none of the bushes or ball joints are binding either and causing it to not settle maybe ?

I'm with ^^, if the springs weren't heat treated correctly (unlikely, I know) then one will be softer than the other and cause the lean. It hasn't happenend to me, but I have neard of it before.

It looks like there is no engine in the car. If so, the problem could be at the back of the car.

Engine is in,
Lovells are inch low
Control arms are fine, certainly not bent enough to cause the inch and a half difference R to L

Wouldn't be the driveway causing the car to sit low at the right rear and high at the left front would it???
I presume you didn't torque up any of the suspension bush bolts (front and rear) before you dropped it back on the ground.

No Dave, all loose untill under load. It's actually the torsioning up process i was starting when it became obvious the car had a significant lean.

Must say i've been concentrating on the fron, but might have a closer look at the arse

I would not worry too much until the car has had a wheel alignment and been driven around the block.

When you jack the front wheels off the ground the wheels swing in toward each other. When the car is lowered back onto the ground the front of the car will sit high and possibly on an odd angle until the wheels are able to move out.

You could try making your own wheel alignment slip plates too allow the suspension to settle without driving. Two plates of metal, wood or floor tiles with grease between them will do the job. When you bounce the car on slip plates you should see them move in and out.

Time to pull the springs back out, measure them up to see if they are the same and then swap them around and see if the cars stance changes.
If the rears check out ok then it would have to be the front springs causing the problem?

I would be checking the rears first as they are a bit easier to change than the fronts.

Thanks to Jeff's balljoint tool, we removed the front springs today to find the obvious fault.
