Now if you are an originality buff you will have to shell out big bucks for a a few special rivets. I guess a lot depends on the car and how pedantic the owner wants to be.
I won't and cannot comment if this is legal or not but I have yet to hear of anyone being pinged for incorrect rivets.
Something tells me it's probably illegal to remove them... Any comments?

More wondering why they got squirted in the first place.
I was also thinking of cleaning them up, but not polishing to mirror, didnt want to cause too much "interference".

I have also seen original LH and early LX Toranas with all 3 plates unpainted. Not the general rule though. My LX SLR had all 3 compliance plates not painted. The car was only 3 years old when i got it & i was the second owner, so i don't know, i dont have it now. The hatch i have now has the left plate the same colour as the car.

Is it legal to drive around with out them. How many A9Xs have you seen with the plates missing? The owners take them off and lock them away for safe keeping. I have known a few and seen a few more, and none have ever been pinged for "interfering" with them.
