What diameter is the disc ?
If its got HQ setup on it... thats the stub thats been used
Unless they have machined the rotor down to 256mm and used the Torana stub

Thanks guys. So the torana stubs will only allow small rotors, yeah? Hence if putting some big ass MF disc's on the front.......HQ all the way eh!!!!

So even if your running aftermarket hubs are you saying that any disc larger then 256mm will not be able to be used with Torana stubs?Pics of your setup would also help

Any size rotor that can be fitted on a HQ stub can also be fitted to a Torana stub. It is the mounting of the caliper on the Torana stub can cause issues. A full size HQ disc can be mounted on a Torana drum brake stub axle with a HQ caliper using an adaptor from CRS.
Hoppers have a 290 mm and 330 mm kit for the Torana disc brake stub axle.
The only significant benefit of HQ stubs are they are stronger than the Torana stub.
The HQ stubs lower the car 20 mm which may require new springs.
The A9X style steering arms should be used with HQ stubs.
The HQ stubs increase camber which is good for a track car but may cause issues for s street car depending on the amount of camber you want to run.
The Hoppers 300 mm kit on HQ stubs will increase track by 8 mm each side. The Hoppers 290 kit on Torana stubs will not alter the track.

how does this compare with the HQ set up fit and clearances? How is this fitted to the Torana crossmember?
I am thinking of using this front end in my LJ V8 with Commy BW cut to fit in the back

Could you tell me why the different diameter rotors change the track dynamics in the hoppers kits?

The problem is that the Hoppers kit caliper can not be mounted in the same position on the HQ stub axles as they can be mounted on the LX stub axles due to the different factory caliper mount positions and the position of the axle on the stub.
The caliper on the LX kit can be mounted so that the original track is maintained. The caliper on the HQ kit has to be mounted 8 mm further out to clear the sub axle which then means that the disc has to be moved out 8 mm and the track is increased 8 mm each side.
The LX kit has two offset options.
Option 1 uses hub made for the Torana and retains standard track.
Option 2 uses the same hub as the HQ kit (Commodore conversion hub) and increases track by 8 mm which some people may want due to rim choice.
The only difference between the two Torana kits with the hub and the caliper spacers.
The difference between the Torana +8 kit and the HQ kit is the spacers and a difference shape caliper adaptor. The position of the holes in the HQ and Torana caliper adaptors are the same but the Torana caliper adaptor has a section cut out to clear the stub axle. The Torana caliper adaptor can be used on the HQ stub axle.

the caliper appears to be bolted to stub axle so maybe not commy but the stud pattern is
, so what are they?

Still HQ though.
Dont run commy rims on it, rear rotors are fine.
Cheers.

do the rear rotors have bigger holes?
I can't run HQ on the back with commy pattern?

The Commodore rear disc rotor is even a loose fit on the Commodore studs as the disc rotor is centered by the axle hub not the studs.
