I don't know about the GTR Badges, but the 'TORANA' 'S' and 'SL' badges all have sheetmetal pressed nuts on the back of them. If you open the boot and have a look you will see them.
To get to the ones on the guards you need to remove the inside splash guard (inside the guard).
The 'Trimatic', '2250' and '2850' badges in the boot are just a press fit from memory.
Just be gentle on the nuts, they are only pressed out of sheet metal.

I would be more worried about breaking off the tabs on the back of the badges.
are you gonna put them back on? if not, you are going to need to weld up the holes

The pressed sheet metal nuts are a pain in my ass!! Some of them wil come off ok, others will refuse to come off, they just keep turning and turning and turning.. so on and so forth. I ended up climbing into the boot so i could reach them properly. Gets a bit of a pain, i snapped one of my TORANA badges in half by accident (pulled it off... then dropped it and it just broke) but i didnt want them to put back on anyway. if your car is headin to the paint and panel once the rego runs out, and your not planning on putting the badges back on, youve got some welding and grinding to do

When i had the rust 'repaired' in my doors, they broke one of pins off the Torana badge on the front drivers guard and then stuck it on and NEVER EVEN TOLD ME!
Good job i had a parts car to get another one from...
But that jacks me off... Won't be going to that pannel shop again.

To remove badges once clips undone use a 60gsm strip of paper to help pull it from the guard, this way it will kill the paper before teh badge.
Cheers
