shorter.. more torque, longer higher revs.. i think :P

I got medium size ones on mine, actually theyre modified weber trumpets, with a nice curled edge. Probably about 3-4" long. Got my engine from 151rwhp to 163rwhp, so they do make a difference!

trumpet lengths have allot to do with air speed into your carbies ( the longer the trumpets the more time the air is running straight so it can accelerate more, the upside is this only happens at high revs ) You really need to talk to an expert to work out what rev range you want to run your car at, and decide on a length from there. Even better borrow a few sets and do a dyno run to look at the different effects.

Years ago toyota or honda was toying around with automatically adjusting trumpet lengths to revs to try and get the optimal length tune over the whole engine range.

Hope this helps

u can get short ones or long ones, but for good all round performance, the medium size ones are best.

Generally longer rams tubes tend to enhance mid range torque with perhaps a little loss of power at top end. Shorter rams tubes would produce the opposite effect.

Id imagine that a fast flowing air stream past them would change their effect quite a lot?

Very likely but under a bonnet with air filters that effect would be much reduced.

I think that I worked out that around 12 to 17 inches is the ideal intake length.
thats measured from the intake valve face to the end of the trumpet, I cant remember, it was a while ago
