Have Cheviot Hotwires on my SLR 5000. Were they an option from the factory & if so I have no stickers that go on the centre caps of mine & was wondering if originals (repro) type are still available & what did they look like?

Yella SLuR said "What's the writing around the middle, are they Aunger's or Cheviot hotwires? "
Aunger wheels were made by Cheviot. Cheviot was the manufacturer & Aunger was just a label.

Our point precisely, those alloys have an Aunger emblem in the centre cap & you're calling them Cheviots.
Also this bit about calling things dealer options. You can have a factory 'option', this has an option number etc, & is built into the car on the assembly line by the manufacturer. The next level down is a genuine 'dealer-fitted accessory' this could be anything in the genuine accessory listing, fitted by the dealer in his service workshop. The next level down is a non-genuine dealer-fitted accessory. This could be just about anything you wanted included in the original sale invoice price & fitted by the selling dealer. The bottom level would be just accessories bought new with the car. In this case the dealer shops out the job (maybe the fitting of some alloys down at the local tyre place), the dealer puts on his mark-up & adds it to the price of the new car.
This could hardly be called a dealer option. It's just an period accessory fitted new on the car at the time of sale.
Food for thought.

A good example is this car (yes it's a FORD flame suit on), we ordered this car new in 1988, indigo blue EA Fairmont Ghia rare 5 speed. It came from the old Fury Ford in Orange brand new with a GS Motor Bodies kit and 15x9" Neales's Wheels. This is how it was the day we picked it up brand new, but that was a dealer thing, certainly not a factory thing. I remember the day we picked it up, driving to Orange and driving it home, great looking car, great to drive, but typical EA, overheated all the way.

Again from memory, but I think the Cheviot caps were round, and the Aunger ones started round and came up to an oval shape, with Aunger over the orange stripes.
