You'll probably get a few different responses but I've used a MSD Blaster coil for as long as I can remember (along with a MSD 6AL) and I've never had one single problem with my ingition system. Starts first time, every time!

I'm sure there are plenty of other good coils out there, probably a bit cheaper than a MSD Blaster coil as well, to suit your application.

Your cheap option would be a GT40 transistor type. From there you start to look at teh MSD type etc.

Cheers

Throw your points dizzy in the bin while your at it and get electronic dizzy, you'll be glad you did. Two sets of points, double pain in the ass.

A vh distributer(recurved) & hec coil would work very well,I never had a problem with this set & it wasnt expensive either.

Do you have any problems with your current setup, is it reliable.
Or dont you have a coil at all?
If it aint broke, fix it if you like....... its your money.

If you decide to replace everything, dont throw the twin points dizzy in the bin, put it on ebay.

As mentioned by all above me already, I'd throw the dist far away, and get a blue motor electronic unit. Then use the appropriate Bosch coil to suit.

Torana482HP I'm a little surprised that ur Bosch coil hasn't exploded on you as yet, generally they do not like the MSD's primary output of ~530V all that much. If its working though, great! Just keep a couple of $$$ aside incase it cries enough, and grab a Blaster series coil.
