Swarbs, are you able to take a photo of the numbers on the crown wheel end of the 3.08 centre in the photo and also measure from the bench top to the top of the flange where the crown wheel bolts on on the 3.08 centre also?
If that is indeed a 3.08 centre in your photo and the numbers and measurement matches the LSD centre I have, that Dave is interested in then that should confirm the centre I have is a 3.08 ??? Anyone??

i have had john take the cover off to verify the 3.08 crownwheel and pinion
it's just the centre that i am querying
but the photo you posted helps heaps
i'm fairly positive that it's what i need
thanks again

thanks to you to davefound out the inturnal lsd from a commodore will fit in the 10 bolt with a bit of machineing and can turn the 2 pin salisbury into a 4 pin lsd.
i believe it also makes them a lot stronger
there is a diff rebuilder here in balcatta w.a. that does them
thanks for your input

it's been purchased and now in the hands of a very experienced diff builder
to advise me of the condition
as original parts for these are nla and the replacement bits from god knows where
are as i am advised crap!!
i'm looking at having the centre converted to 4 pinion
he will crack test the 3.08 crownwheel and has a lapping
machine if necessary but advises against this option as it tends to remove
some of the case hardness
all new parts are available for this option as well as
oversize cones and this pleases me no end
thanks to my mate luigi from luigi's head shop in bayswater w.a.
for recomending him as they have known each other for years
looking forward to putting this matter to bed
but may not happen till i get back from bathurst
thanks also to john replicaslr for your pacience
and for everyones help in this matter
cheers
