Hi all,

I'm trying to fit a child restraint in the LX so i can bring the family to Toranafest but i'm having trouble getting a bolt to fit the captive nuts under the parcel tray.

Does anyone know what size/thread the bolt should be?

I've tried M7, M8, 5/16 UNC and 5/16 UNF but nothing fits and i'm getting desperate.

Any ideas anyone???

Chris.

p.s. they're the original nuts.

Don't remember the size buts it's imperial, must be some sort of standard as even a 2012 model car the nut is imperial. Any shop that sells baby seats will have the bolts and attaching bracket.

Thanks Brett, imperial narrows it down. I've got the bolt and bracket from the seat but it wont go in.
I'm thinking now that maybe the threads are full of paint so i might try and screw it in and hope it doesn't stuff the nut.

Bizarre that they're all imperial huh, means that even a full metric car like a Merc or Toyota will have three imperial nuts!!!

This is from the ADR

34.4.1.2. incorporate a 5/16 inch - 18 UNC - 2B internal thread which will provide
sufficient engagement of the ‘Attachment Bolt’ to meet the strength
requirements of clause 34.7 when the ‘Attachment Bolt’ is retaining a
‘Child Restraint Anchor Fitting’, ‘Spacer(s)’, attaching hardware and any
trim or other material present.

Regards
Steve
