I feel very privileged to have been a part of a large gathering of enthusiasts that were entertained by a magnificent display of cars of all makes and legends like Fred Gibson,Allan Moffat,John Harvey,Jim Richards,Larry Perkins ,Colin Bond, Frosty Winterbottom Leo Pruneau,Joe Felice and our own gold medalist Anna complete with medal and all this was M C ed by Arron Noonan. The event was held in Vin Keans BMW showrooms on West Terrace. I met Stonie whom i had featured in bathurst photos . A lot of forum members were there chrome yella from mexico and 3 members all the way from West Australia just to be at the event. A memerable event with Childhood cancer assc being the recipent of much needed funds as our Governments don,t support them . A world class event in SA. Many thanks to all who helped make this night a huge success and a DVD filmed by Channel 7 with proceeds going to the cause will be available and i will let you know where and when to get a copy.

It was indeed a great night and i was fortunate enough to be involved in a small way with the event . Being part of what i call Team Kean was an eye opener to the frenetic pace these folks work at and the enormous amount of work and planning that went into this remarkable event.

28 cars from a variety of competition cars to concours resto's and good clean road going muscle cars were on hand to keep the guests and legends in the spirit of the evening. Cars included MHDT Promo Hatches and several other HDT race and promo cars ,the Replica XA coupe that was owned by Alan Moffat , the 2003 HRT Sandown 500 wiining car of Skaife/ Kelly , an ex Supercheap AU Owned by Bruce Hienrich , a VT Saloon car raced by Josh Kean ,some group nc cars , Tarmac rally cars , E38 chargers , an E34 Big Tank Pacer. Also 2 magnificently restored monaros , 1 a Silver Mink HK 327 , the other a Sunburst 350 HQ 4 door, an SS hatch , XY and XW and XB GT coupe a Skyline GTR and a couple of classic American cars.

I would like to thank all those who made cars available for this special night and themselves for attending and contibuting to make the event Successful and raise money for the Childhood Cancer Association.

I'll also join and say thanks to 'Team Kean' for what was truly a once in a lifetime event. As Wayne says, it was a privilege to have been there. I'll never forget it for sure. (And thanks for the ride home in that beautiful Riv too Larry)!

Forgot to say a special thanks to the Family of the late Gary Watson and the new owner of the Silver Gallaher 500 for allowing and bringing the Gallaher GT and the Geoghegan GT 2nd place bathurst '67.

Both cars were at auction at 2 pm Saturday and while the Silver GT was sold both cars were made available and brought to the event , a top effort and a fitting tribute for Mr. GT Gary Watson that his 2 pride and joy's could be together one last time. I am sure he would have been stoked that Fred Gibson and Alan Moffat were taking so much interest in the Bathurst car and comparing old stories about the seating and no brakes.

Agreed with other comments, I had a great night and the opportunity to listen to the Bathurst Greats was not to be missed. Had a good laugh when Larry Perkins was reciting about all the competitors over the years who have lost Bathurst over a 20c part.... his comment to that was "well go buy a bloody 30c part then!!". To be there in the name of charity "Childhood Cancer Association" was a good cause as well.
Took a few pics of a couple of better than nice Torana's.

And sounds as tough as it looks. They fired number 8 up and gave it a boot full, sounded tough. Got a short video of it, not sure how to post it.

Best thing that could have ever happened filling that shocking hole in the roof in. The bloke that did that should have his nuts cut off, "CLASSIC" my arse. I'll have to dig that magazine out
