a mate and i are attempting a suck though turbo setup on a stock 173
just for shits and giggles. we have strada 1 manifolds and some old t04 clunked out turbo. It doesnt mater if it goes good or not or blows up, just doing it for a bit of an experiment, we have a 350 and a 450 holley laying around that we could use, my question is, does anyone know what carb would be better and how to correctly modify them for them for a suck though and anything else we should know about?

On a draw thru the bigger the carb the less restriction so go the bigger rooster. You may want to externally reference the power valve, as in a draw thru there will always be a vacuum directly under the carb, thats why they used to use SU's.

i've half fabricated the blow though set up, its just the other setup seems easyier.
