Anyone know where I can get a clutch and pressure plate for a Saginaw 4 speed? Had a look around ebay and wasnt able to find anything. Lastly is there anything in particular I need to be sure of when purchasing one?

Slight difference in pressure plate finger hights, you may experience shorter clutch throw.

The Saginaw uses the same 10 spline set up that the Holden use.

Jim Berry Race clutches 07 38479999

I use a ceramic/metalic wot ever 6 button clutch & pressure plate of his & its brilliant. I drives like an organic clutch :D

So much better than the 2 Exteme(ly shit) clutches before!!

I have 403rwhp 550ft/lb estimated flywheel torque, has done many runs down the strip & have smoked it in 1st , 2nd & 3rd (gets really silly after that) with no slip or issues
I certainly recommend giving him a call. Just dont do it on a mobile unless you got it plugged into the power! :spoton:

Sounds expensive not to mention the postage for something this heavy. Really just after a heavy duty clutch and pressure plate locally, part number would be handy as well.

The one tonner pressure plate has higher clamping pressure

Be careful of the poor old Saginaw with that much hp! They like to fall to bits with a factory rated 250hp 327 or 300hp 350 and skinny tyres!

Yeah I think we have talked about this in the past. I would like to change it to a muncie but the cost of the rebuild engine and removal has already broke the budget(misses haha). Would like to change it in a few years if still have the interest in the car.

Just be careful, no flat changes or big power in any gear especially at peak torque rpm! Send a PM to 73BATHXU1HTBATH350 (Craig) and ask him about the Saginaws and 10-bolt Chev diffs he killed in his HK GTS, before he changed to Muncie and 9". He went back to a Toploader for a while but it ate a few of these too. The engine in that would have been similar power to yours.

I had been going around in circles trying to sort out clutch issues with my Group C commodore. Stumbled onto the guys at Sunbury Brake & Clutch and they were great.

Good info, prompt service and good price.

Rang Sunbury brakes today. Spoke to a guy there who was very helpful and sounded like he knew his stuff. I told him the best thing to do from my end was probably take the clutch and pressure plate with the flywheel to him so we can be sure on getting the right one, he said bring the thrust bearing too just to be sure. looks like its gonna cost around $475.00 for a stage 2. Does that sound ok??

No complaints about the clutch it works perfectly. The only problem I've had is with the throwout bearing I bought from them. I need to replace it at some stage as it was making some squealing noises occasionally. It hasn't done it for ages but it will be changed when the gearbox comes out to fix a slight oil leak.

Hi s,

I've used their Supra to Holden v8 kit in the past.

Worked fine and is all painted a shiny green colour :)
