Hi Guys.

There are a few different sizes of Commodore discs. The most Common 'small' disc rotor is the one that fits VB to VP 6 cyl & VB to VK V8. The VC & VH 4 cyl Commodores use a smaller disc, similar to LH/LX/UC, but have metric wheel studs.

VL to VP V8 & VL Turbo (also some V6 Police cars) use a larger diameter disc.

Besides to get the stud pattern
What would be the purpose of doing this ?
The commy disc is 270mm as opposed to the HQ at 276
The commy disc is 23mm thick as opposed to the HQ at 25.4

So why would you want to do it ?

And yes they run the same bearing and bearing spacing so yes the disc fits on no worries.

so im better off purchasing HQ disks with commy pattern.
i was just looking for a budget alternative.

Legally you cannot really redrill the original disc to commodore but a new undrilled one you can. it is something about stress concentration etc etc.... Seems not to have stopped many people before....

Cheers

PS: Keep inmind that if you customise stuff like this when you need to replace it you will need the custom stuff done again. make sure you do not need the car before going down this path as parts can take a long time to get when specialist. I try to use standard parts now... makes fixing yell easier...

the splines that hold the studs, are they just an interference fit?

Yes they are a pressed interfereance fit. the splines in teh disc get cut as the studs get pressed in. So just changing teh studs is not going to help as you would end up with HQ stud pattern (read PCD) with commodore metric thread....

Cheers
