That would make sense. Might get on ebay and have a look around for something to get to fix it, sure as crap will beat using pliers to open it everytime.....

Handle on the first one looks very similar, Sheath is black not white, but you should be able to pull the entire inner cable out of the new one and feed it into your original sheath.

I would not be trying to remove the handle and re glue it on, thats asking for dramas.

I do fail to see exactly why it must be on the passengers side, theres plenty of room there to neatly loop the cable around and go down the drivers side, but alas that would have cost a fraction more and Holden couldnt have done such a thing lol.

Cheers.

Better than owning a ford though lol...yep geting a new cable with handle is prob the easiest way to fix this prob. I've had a look on ebay and there are a few cables that would do the job, or I mite look at rare spares, shouldn't be too much of a prob.Another one for ya guys is I need to get some minor rust work done on the spare wheel floor in the boot, so that obviously means welding etc, now will i have to take the gas tank out to get this done for fumes etc, I am hoping I don't have to but maybe again you guys can advise me please...

My 69 Brabham has the same set up but my 68 S dose not.
I also have seen that set up on a 69 SL so could it have only been available on the SL's and Brabham 69 models.

Here is the Nasco Accessory bonnet release for the HB.

This is copied from the Dealer Video Presentation film. Thanks to Anthony L. who let me copy it for Torana Tough. Looks the same cable to me. The T handle would have been moulded on but maybe something similar could be glued on.

Also the button in the glove box is a Chevrolet thing, and perhaps other GM product lines. Had an 1980 Chev Classic Caprice and I would swear it was the same button except the Chev one was yellow.

I just scored one of these out of a donor for my HB, and im adding that parcel shefl as well but the steering colunm is different from a 67 to a 69 so i will have to mod it, any suggestions ????

Carefully bent the lever down and drilled a 3mm hole in it.

Then took a generic bonnet release cable and fed it through from the passengers side drill hole and rubber gromm through the firewall and self tapped srewed around engine bay. Easy as.
