Hey, has anyone here gone through the process of fitting Hopper's LC-UC 290mm disc brake upgrade?. Just wondering how much of an upgrade it really is, would you say the performance differance is noticable? Does combining a 290mm hoppers front disc braking system with a stock rear drum system cause poorly distributed braking force? Is it really necissary to replace the 7/8 inch master cylinder with a 1inch cylinder? Any real world benifit of getting the discs slotted or drilled?

Any opinion, experience, or wild speculation welcome, and would be a big help.

The reason for considering the upgrade is that the existing gear on my LH is really far gone, rusted solid and in needed of a full rebuild. So thought I might capitalise on this and jump straight to the good stuff.

I realise I should be asking the Hoppers shop about this, but I thought they might be slightly biased towards actually selling there shiny wares.

Thanks again for any advice given.

Your original master cylinder is actually 1" and will drive the system fine

If you really wanted the backs to work alittle harder you could fit HQ rear brakes which are 10" diameter instead of the Toranas 9"
Then you'd have essentially L34 rear brakes

I sell the kits myself so will refrain from comment on how good they are...... cause I'm alittle biased too.......lol
But everyone I have sold them too is impressed
Its a step up from a single piston solid 256mm disc to a 290mm vented 28mm thick disc and 2 pot caliper. So its a huge improvement
