A Monaro is not complete without a chev! hope the Vortech engine works out better for him.
yeah he loves the vortec he is very happy now m8....
was it a hard swap from 308 to 350?
ie was it just mounts/sump/harness etc
or was it a little bit more?
was a pretty straight forward swap m8 motor came with the sump had to buy engine mounts and adapters got the radiator tanks swapped unrapped the wiring harness and redone it for the chev starter on the opposite side new pacemaker extractors changed the alternator bracket and modified the power steering pump bracket....

in my opinion HJ GTS MONARO COUPE is the best looking of all the monaro's of it's time and the best to drive...then again i'm biased to this model having owned 3 hj gts coupes...its a real shame they didn't make many hj coupes as particular model should have been factory fitted with a 350 chev...
yeah the hj coupe is a pretty rare car festa and his colour is cyclamin which is a beautiful colour aswell and spot on holden should have made them factory 350.....

could you have mounted the pwr str pump down lo on the left, where the factory had it? im guessing you mounted it off the drivers side cyl head? would love a pic of the end result. cheers

That's not quite true. HJ was meant to have a 400 standard in Caprice and optional where the 350 was in HQ. So GTS sedan and coupe and LS coupe plus lesser lux level Statesmans. So a Hj GTS coupe with 400 and TH400, i'd like that! This one is a beauty, shame it has had the quad headlight front fitted. Makes it look like and even rarer HJ LS coupe.
Daryl, does Ben have the info off this car?
