Autos in general sap power due to internal friction, they have multiple gearsets running although no load on these gearsets in a particular gear and also friction with clutch plates and bands not engaged.

to add to what rodomo has stated is that the th700 is a heavy box they tend to suck more power than most auto's
if you ever wana see the difference get into to vn commies 1 auto 1 manual and feel the difference it's huge

if you like the smoothness of an auto you could always trick up a powerglide
there not to bad on sucking power

yeh but im not keen on only having 2 gears, i havnt driven one bfore but i wouldnt think that what be extremley comfortable. i think im just gonna sell the whole lot as a kit and then get the supra box if its just not quick enough.
im sure this question has been asked many times but what did u pay for ur kit munro?

i didn't buy a kit as such
i bought the bellhousing 2nd hand i bought the spigot bush and clutchplate from crs (never again)
had a local engineer turn up a second bush for me and bought a diesel hilux clutch plate
i used a speedo cable out of a mid 70s corolla and i fabricated my own cross member
i had the tailshaft done by veem engineering (highly recomended)
everything cost me around $500 including the supra box so i was happy

cheers tom :spoton:
