2nd you should feel the difference when you drive it
ie: if you've fitted a high stall when your taking off (slowly) it will feel like the g'box is slipping till you hit just under the stall rating.
if it's been shift kitted it will shift quite harsh when being driven hard

if its manualized put it in drive and drive of and it will bog down until road speed comes up to match gear, like taking of in 3rd or 4th in a manual.

and always use someone with the trust of knowen racers, a trip out the local drags or car shows may be in order to assertain a reputable tranny mechanic as i would not entrust your local rebuilder with this job.

Put your foot on the brakes, put the box into D and put your foot down....revs will rise until it hits the stall point. Don't do this for any more than 15 seconds. The box should be warmed up first as temperature does have an effect on the stall speed.

makka thats how high stalls workEH, if you can bring it all the way up like that, you have got a very loose coverter
they're designed to slip "till stall revs are obtailed then lock.
if your running a high lift cam, using a standard converter is like trying to release clutch at idle in a manual
