Any recommendations on getting fuel lines made up would be helpful. I am in Brissy so local is most preferred option.

For the brakes my local ABS brake shop has said they can make up the brake lines using my old ones.

That would be good but my hatch never come with brake lines, sadly junked by the previous owner.

I have a UC sedan donor car so would they be the same?

I am using UC booster and M/C with integral prop valve.

Cheers.

If the booster and master are the same in both cars, you can copy the brake lines.

But he said he has a UC sedan donor car and will be using a UC booster and master on the LX?

You could buy some bundy tube and flare nuts and make prototype brake lines. Once you are happy with the shape and length then take them to ABS to use as a template for making the new lines.

Most brake shops won't bend them up off the car... cause they are guaranteed not to fit

And if they do it on car they would prefer no motor or anything in the way

Contact BPA QLD and use their Reliance brand brake pipe... nice and easy to bend and flare

Make the pipes yourself... leave 4" between bend and end to allow the pipe to go into the flaring mandrel... then take them to get flared

Thats what I'd do if I didn't have my own flaring tools

And as for using the donor UC pipes... go take a look at how they go thru the inner guards ... you might find they are not the same

I was going to use the UC pipes to get copies made. Like the under body lines to the diff disconnect.

The whole UC front end is being transferring over to the hatch.

I know the engine bay lines feed through the guards, need to check where the disconnect points are under there.

Not too sure so need to suss out if I need a bit of extra bracketing under there.  On the to do list for tomorrow.

Really not keen on trailering the shell about all over the place to get jobs like this done, recipe for damage.

I like the idea of making my own pipes, are the flaring tools expensive? For the sake of perhaps half a dozen flares may not be worth the outlay.

Thinking the fuel lines have different flare-less type fittings dont they? Will quizz BPA QLD if they would have the pipe for fuel lines as well.

Cheers guys.

I prefer the middle one as its vice mounted , fast and does a great flare

When I have to work on car... I use the first one

The last one is for desperate jobs and I hate using it

I had a 10mm steel fuel line bent up for a LX Torana by pirtek which i never used. They bent it up the same shape as the standard line.  The only reason I didn't use it is because it would be easier installed if the gearbox/crossmember/motor were out or even a hoist might be better. If you are interested in it PM me.

Hi Dattoman, do you know of a good place in Vic for buy brake and fuel line pipe?

Or somewhere who will deliver?  Do they also sell metric and imperial connections for the joins?

Cheers.

Emu i got my stainless steel brake line from the link i provided, he is in geelong but im sure he would post. Price was Very good, from memory around $80 for a 6m coil, He also supplies the stainless fittings aswell. I rang a few places and this place by far was the cheapest and was local which helped!
