I just wanted to get an opinion on the flare bolt sizes people have used.

When i originally put mine on i used M6 stainless cap screws.

when i picked up my Wilson flares kits from john the kits came with

M8 cap screws.

Without seeing them on i thought straight away that the head would look big in the flare recess.

Has anyone used M8 cap screws on the wheel arch flares.

how did they look.

Not speaking to originality at all, but have used 5/16" and they fit OK but didn't really like the look of them compared to the 1/4". Have gone metric now as its easier to get rivet nuts, 6mm look good to me.

originally 5/16 unc and nutserts (hatch on all rears) front guards use nutsert on

rear double panel by the lower door hinge only and uses longer bolt

the rest are nut spring and flat washer with shorter bolts

I used M6 because they fit the flare better IMHO.

Chris.

My guess is that if they were 5/16 originally then the ones i had given to me from john were probably 5/16 x 1/2 (M8 x 12mm)

some of them will have to be shortened in certain areas.

Seems a mixed bag of opinions there. surprised me they were 5/16 originally.

i will have to check out some close up pics to see what i like.

I know what the 1/4 (6mm) look like so will have to search for some close ups of the 5./16.

Thanks for the feedback.

much appreciated.
