When I last  bought Spark plugs for the LX ( 308 red with VK Elect Dizzy) I mistakingly  bought just standard Red Motor Spark Plugs BP5FS.  Today I asked the guy at Auto Pro if it makes much difference if you install these plugs with an Elect Dizzy and he told me its only the Gap on the plugs thats different if you buy the plugs for running an elect dizzy!?.

Is this correct.... surely not?( is'nt one a resistor plug and the other non resistor) should I just re- gap mine or buy the other plugs for running an elect dizzy??

I have recently travelled this path. Use the plugs you have and gap them to1.4mm.

I'll give that a go then mate, the only reason I asked was its running rougher than it used to ,at the moment they are at the gap supplied when new( whatever gap that is?)

I had the same issue. The idle and light throttle were much improved by increasing the gap as described. Advice was variable from those I asked including NGK and performance ignition in nunawading. Is your heat range correct?

I dunno ,doesnt the 5 designate heat range, thats what I have (BP5FS) if this is not right for  mild 308 red and elect ignition I dont know?, I learn more as I go LOL!!

Anywhere in the 1mm to 1.5mm gap will get it running, what gap suite each individual application is another storey.

The only purpose I requested was its operating harder than it used to ,at when they are at the gap provided when new or whatever gap that is. . .

Seeing as I had such spectacular success translating Jim's other post I thought I'd have a go at this one too:

"I have a large gerbil in my bottom. It is wearing green trousers and playing a harmonica"
