hello all a mate has told me of a torana that is for sale its a lh thats been rust treated and resprayed up in cadbury purple had a new door rubber kit installed sounds like a bit of cash has been thrown at it also has some mags and new tyres which costed himabout 1 grand it is complete and mostly been put back together just a few nick nacks however it only has a 202 and a auto i would be inclined to get a 253 and auto in (as i have them laying around) whats the go here what sort of sump is used is it the same as a hq ??? or different also the linkages for the accel pedal to the carby

also are there any bad points which i should look out for (weaknesses etc)

Bad points, well, bog obviously, and Sedan's rust in the sill so watch out for that, can you take photo's?

Bad points... I mentioned the boot floorpan and lower rear guards on MSN. What I forgot was battery tray. But if you're getting it for as much as you told me you were, then I don't think the battery tray matters too much!

As Liam said, check for bog too.

Get photos, show me photos, maybe show others photos if i say so (:P) etc etc

...and at the end of the day, BUY THE CAR!

other bad points are
1 chassis where back legs of crossmember bolt
2 chassis from back door ova diff
3 under tail lights sill panels rear quaters

HQ-HZ or LH-LX sump fits.
HQ ran a lever type bracket for accelerator which i think needs carby connections/bracket change to cable.
radiotor, HQ will fit with mods.
shifter location varies from trimatic to trimatic esp commy to early. Not sure if tory linkage will suit HQ.
HQ exhausts may well foul engine bay.
if the car is a fresh respray check for bodge jobs with bog and hasty repairs in above mentioned places. Also examine general finish in good prefer fluro light looking for any imperfections showing from beniegh the paint work may lead to short life from bad prep work.


the bango diff will be your greatest weakness........
