I am looking at building another 186 block up at the monent so I can moth ball my original and one of the blocks I am looking at has the following cast date
K187 with the cast clock in the 12 oclock position

Hi we have a 186 block for our LJ Torana build (not standard for an LJ i understand that)
Cast info is = D 8 0
Im assuming this is April 8th... 1970??
Also the numbers on the other side = 186P318169
I assume 186 as in the engine size
The P stands for ??
Rest of numbers ??

D80 should be October 8th 1970, making it mid-HG production, so the 318160 serial number looks about right.
186P is the prefix for a 186 hi-comp engine fitted to HK/T/G series.
