probualy getting ahead of my self (car still at panel beaters ) but im thinking of getting better brakes on the LX. i was thinking of just getting all the HQ bits and chucking them on to the torrie cause i want to go a 9" in the rear so changing stud pattern isnt a big deal. but ive also been thinking of getting a hoppers kit (or from somebody else like dattoman). i want to go for about 16" rims when i do upgrade the brakes.
so the question should i go for snazzy torrie brakes or HQ and Upgrade them a bit?
the budget i was thinking was about $3500 max for the front brakes.
any opion's would be great
cheers guys

Infact $3500 will get you
Rebuilt booster (modded to suit ADR master)
ADR master cylinder
New pipes where needed
Hoppers front disc kit (with braided hoses+slotted discs)
Hoppers rear disc kit (with braided hoses+slotted discs)
And I'll even fit it for you for that price !!

Maybe dattoman knows a bit about these kits? I am not sure if they are available for Holden stud patterns. To be honest I haven't even looked up their web site so all answers may be there.
Hope this is of some help

PS- If you do read this dattoman are you an agent for Hoppers Stoppers or do you build a similar kit? I live in Paraburdoo so maybe it would be better for me to buy a brake upgrade kit from you as you are located in Western Australia.

What diff housing/rear brake setup are you currently running?
The RRS website shows rear disc brake kits for Fords only, not a Holden mentioned anywhere on thier website (apparently the guys that run the show there are big Ford nuts!) but I called them the other day and enquired about a setup for a Holden. They said their setups could be modified to suit other applications. Dallas was the person I was speaking with, was very helpful but wasn't really sure on the technical side of the setup.
I'm waiting for RRS's technical gurus to return from the USA to go through a possible setup for a Holden rear conversion. I'll let you know how it goes.

Mounting of the backing plate/axle retaining plates are a different configuration to that of Fords so you have to allow for that. Axle bearing size may differ as well depending on which model Holden.

Are you getting a diff done for it ?cheers for that dattoman when the car is ready for brakes ill bring it up. could also get my motor rebuilt up that way any ideas on some one good?
another question how hard is it to put a hoppers kit or the like on to a 9 inch caue i would prefer to have 4 wheel disc's
Cause that will determine which rear brake kit is easiest
We can discuss your many options when your closer to ready (before you buy your diff if you still haven't got it)
What sort of engine you looking at building ?
I know a guy....... he's assembling mine for me

yeha with the motor im mean to have a 308/327 i dont know how true it is. i was going to get it rebuilt and replace what need replacing like the inlet and exhuast both are stock holden. i was thinking a n elderbrock mainfold and some good extractors. ive been talking to [bottledup] he (its a he isnt it?) asked what power im cahsing i dont have a clue to be honest. just want a fairly nice street car with the occasionl trip to the drags. under 15's would be nice low 14's or high 13's wouldnt dissapoint.
cheers gump

Bottledup is a Dave so he's a boy last time I saw him
Edelbrock manifold and good exhausts is a good idea
When your ready I can run thru some things with you and who to see and get stuff done

"a reasonable aim is for 1hp per cube, which would give us 327hp at the flywheel. This is certainly achievable without going ridiculous with the internals."
he also said depending on whats rooted in my motor i should look at around $6000 which is okay just puts me alittle behind ive got that money just means the diff/gearbox brakes/suspension gets nocked back a few months.
im going to crash been up to long been up since 1400 yesterday (30/6) and its now 2015 (1/7) and im getting a bit sleepy and abit absent minded ran my ute out of fuel couple of kays from town.

Yep, you're right makka! That would be the best option.antelope, if he is getting a 9 inch made up it can be made to suit easily
Unfortunately for me my 9" was set up to run the original Holden drum brakes.
