Hey guys,
Dad and I purchased a 2007 Subaru Forester (luxury) from the Brisbane insurance auctions.
It is a repairable write off (stolen and recovered) it needed a clutch, new window, whole interior taken out and dried/cleaned (it was wet inside from being out in the rain with a smashed window) and the dents out of every panel taken out.
Will post some pics when i get a chance
Cheers, Ryan

Best way to do it would be to register it in Qld but I am not sure if you would be ever able to register it in nsw.
In nsw one of the conditions of getting exemption on a writeoff vehicle is that you need to be the registered owner 28 days prior.

Got it passed in qld last week, then transfered to nsw. It is no longer on the write off registry because it has been transfered to nsw so if someone was to do a revs check nothing would come up
ps, its was a 'repairable write off' not a complete write off?

happy days mate. look like your all sorted.
Yeh I know the repairable write off stat write off difference... nsw have changed their rules thats all and it has caught some out.
I was going to drop one of those legacy scoops on my patrol. I do like them.

Looks good i dont know why they would have written it off looks like a pretty clean car really.
thanks, we did all the work ourselves it, but if you were to pay someone it would be..
$2000 to repair all dents
$800 - $1000 for new clutch
$3-400 for new window
$1000 new tyres
$1000 to pull interior apart, clean and put back together
I guess they seen that as enough to make it a repairable write off

Yeah plus they add in a few extra bucks for bits they haven't seen and extra bits and pieces, it soon adds up.

You should have made the effort and gone the extra mile to install one of these.
