ok , went to put my fuel tank back in my lj torana & as i was cleaning it i found at least 8 holes withing a 10 inch area - so i gave up . lol . SO i know fuel cell are ILLEGAL - BUT only because the inlet is in the boot - not fillable from outside - SO im thinking why cant i use the original filler area & run a pipe to the tank - as factory . IM looking at a 60 litre alloy fuel cell that also has a fuel sender installed . maybe i could get a welding shop to weld a inlet pipe onto the cell ?. ANY idea,s on this would be appreciated . thanks OR maybe someone here has a GOOD factory tank they can sell me .

See if you can hunt down an old Price Engineering Alloy Tank.............these bolt straight in, have a filler neck spout welded into the tank that connects straight to the factory hose/filler inlet. Bigger capacity tank too, looks a lot like an alloy drop tank from the back, but with the same capacity as an xu-1 tank and is a similar design to the xu1 tanks.

Depending on the holes you could coat the tank with a POR15 or KBS coatings product, I repaired my LJ tank several years ago using the KBS product.

yer holes are pin holes & from what ive seen so far i reckon there will be way too many to bother repairing .. did not really want or see the need for a xu1 tank as its a 4 door .. thats why i thought a CHEAPER alloy cell would work just as good .

I had a Price Engineering Alloy Tank in my car at one stage.....that is, until I put back a standard tank into it because I had the bottom modified to take a welded in baffle to accept a braided line.....I'll try and dig up a few pics of it.
