I emailed Biante the other day to ask them if they would make them, as they have made a Phase 4 Biante model, one would think the V8 LJ Prototypes and the E55 R/T V8 Charger (4 Speed) Version would of followed suit, in 2003 the Late owner said they were going to do the Pink V8 LJ, its on one of the Biante Forum thingy's, but it has not been made so far, other than the Pink LJ XU-1 6 Cyl one been made and sold, So lets hope in the future they might make them, would Torana Forum members on here buy them ?????????? if released.

Good idea. Small point though, Chrysler never made, nor intended to race, an E55 4 speed Charger. It is a great myth that originated in a Modern Motor magazine, and has been propogated since (one high-profile individual stamping his E55's compliance tag with the D20 4 speed option hasn't helped either). A mate of mine, who owns both of the 'mule' prototype E38 Valiant utes, also has the paperwork associated with the import of those E55 motors in 1970 and their intentions. Any desire to race the V8 Charger was pretty much scuppered in the early part of the testing programme when the VF mule with a 340 was slower around Mallala than the 265 triple Webered version (Pete G was the driver as Leo G was in the UK chasing a Lotus and skirt....). Chrysler came very close to racing an E55 VG Pacer in Improved Production though. Rumour has it the test car may still exist....

Years ago when Trevor was still alive and running Biante I approached them to make a particular car

That car was Howard Bell's Litre8

They claimed that there would be little to no interest in a car like that and not enough would be sold

So don't hold your breath

Yes...and Howard even offered to sign the COA too

But they told me there wouldn't be enough interest in his car to do a production run

Considering they already do the shape, colour of the car

I wouldn't have thought it too hard to make a longer scoop , custom engine , rollcage , wheels etc

I personally believe they would have sold out fairly fast even with a production run of say... 5000 units

Its an icon car in the local car scene after all

No optional strata powered 202 for Bomber though

I would buy a Litre 8 before a V8 xu1. Would still get both at some stage if made.

Biante sent me a email saying stay tune to there newsletters they put out, regarding with the V8 cars, so at a guess, could it be the Yellow LC HDT XU-1 V8 Prototype that Harry and the HDT Boys built, as it was first V8 Prototype. They said in the next few weeks looks out for it, they said they would like to do one of the V8 LJ GTR Prototypes in the future.

Biante said they would, and they did, I hope the Pink and White and Orange LJ GTR V8 Prototypes are done in the future, but a great start the Yellow LC HDT V8 Prototype (KSN116), well done Biante.

I noticed Biante used its nickname (XU2) in the write up :stirpot:

They clarified this by stating that it was " (designated XU-2 by Firth) ", which is correct.

Pete.

Yeah Pete, Harry coined it XU2,  and thought GMH would name it XU2, guess we will never find out due to GMH stopping the V8 LJ road car production.

I was always under the impression that Harry referred to the XU-2 in telling the story , as to not confuse the two cars!  (LJ  6 and V8)  am sure I read that in BROCK and I magazine ! .....I  am expecting to be shot down in flames just the same!

When they built the Yellow LC HDT V8 XU-1, Harry and the HDT boys nick named it the XU2 and thought Holden would of called it that as well

Holden had other plans with that name, they put XU-2 decals on the LH but later went with SL/R 5000.
