I have a UC torana that i am about to put 14 x 6 GTS rims on,( had to the stud pattern changed to HQ) but am unsure on what tyre size to use. The guards are standard ( no flares )  and the ride height is also standard, i am hoping to full the guards as much as possible and was thinking of 205/ 215 fronts with 235 / 245 rears.

Any help would be greatly appreciated or even photos.

205/60/14s ar'nt much different overall rolling diameter to the old 13s with std tyres, good for the front, minimal if any guard mods.

245s are a bit of a stretch on 6" rims, even 235/60s are. 215s or 225s if avail would stay under the guards nicely and allow for a bit of lowering.

yrs ago I ran 205s and 215s on 7" rims on an LH sitting pretty low and had no issues with guard clearance

The other issue to consider is what tyre sizes are still availble for 14inch rims. Personally I wouldnt go much wider that 215s.

OK not a UC but just to show how fat 235s are on 6" rims

235/60x14 were almost dead about 8 years ago. There won't be too many around these days. Even 215/65x14 are thin on the ground.

Actually beyond 205s 235/60R14 are about the only size that suppliers still make, they are still readily available but 215s and 225s not so much. Other profiles almost non-existent, except the occasional run of 245/50R14 but that's no good for a 6" wheel

What about 205/70/14 are they ok, or is there issues with them hitting the guards when turning due to there taller profile

Touch and go - you could make them fit easily enough, but not sure if they would without some minor modifications (perhaps?)
