Just wondering because I thought they might work well together for rust prevention.

At one of my first jobs every Friday arvo before knock-off I had to wash the work van, a white XB windowless panel van. The boss wouldn't let me use anything but kero in the water. Reckoned it got down into the seams and hindered rust whereas detergents create it.

No gloves, COAJ. 16/17 years old going out every Friday night stinking of kero... I friggen hated it.

Kero is the best thing I've found for removing excess fish oil too so not sure if that's a plus or a minus ?

Has anyone tried it or know of any reason why I shouldn't please ?

So I can only assume the fish oil is to dilute the taste of kerosine ???

Who cares? Fish oil is shit.

Cavity wax like Tectyl 506 or similar is far far far far better.

Dilute it 50/50 with Prepsol, spray it absolutely everywhere, wait a day or so, and spray it neat absolutely everywhere again.

Crack a beer and never worry about rust again.

Old laquer paint jobs loved kero for some reason, used to wash my LJ in it to, WAFTAM with 2k though.

Cheers.

I've used both the Tectyl and the Kero.  Tectyl is great for rustproofing with fish oil (hint - I don't have rust in my Patrol after many trips to stradie island) and kero, well you will find a lot of engineering shops use this cause it is cheap. Both do a good job.  But I am finding Tectyl is getting hard to find in 4 litre drums.
