Hey guys, i believe iv been had.
I bought this trimatic a week ago and last night i just fount the rear shaft/spline where the tail shaft slips on, is loose, it has about 5mm play side to side, this is a dumb question but is this normal, i would say not, but i would like people in the know to advise me on this one :blink: :blink: :fool: :fool:

The bearing supporting the shaft is about 200mm into the auto. What it has is a bush behind the seal where the shaft comes out of the extension housing. Once you fit the tailshaft, the tailshaft bears on this bush and eliminates the play and supports that end of the output shaft. Without seeing it, it is probably OK. If you have any doubts, pull the pan off and check for debris.

oh pheew i put the tail shaft in and it does take up the play
thanks mate, i might take the pan off later and have a look.
