I haven't been keeping up with the Monaros of late, but I can tell you an A9X hatch (road car) recently sold for $250.

I think the first 6 digit road car was Paul's valencia orange hatch sold around 12-18 mths ago

Everyone poo pooed it when it went in the paper for $100 000 but now seems thats the minimum figure a hatch would fetch nowdays

I remember Paul buying that car for something like $25,000. At Bathurst in 2004, he told me he would take $70,000 for it and I must admit I had a giggle (Paul was there so he knows) , but then I heard it went for a little over $100,000 not long after that, it certainly set the benchmark. I looked at a Hatch maybe 3 years ago for $35,000. This is the one I kick myself over every day, but $35,000 was alot at the time (everything is relative). That car had 23,000km on the clock, had not been registered since the late 80's, but at first glance, needed work. It just so happened to be Bob Forbes personal transport. I should have bought the thing (especailly since it only went to a guy who sold it after a few months just to make money), but hindsight is a wonderful thing

Yep

A way to print money is to make fakes and sell them to the ill informed for an unbelievable pub price of $xx,000.

Not everybody wants there stuff checked out in fear that someone will take it out from under them. Just ask Pipjones.

Buyer beware.

The price they are getting IS going to motive the shonks.

Just on that, are you saying pip got someone to check out a car for him and they bought it from under him? If so, that is a weak act I have to say.

Hi all, Well what great news for all A9X hatch owners, $250K for a road goin painted up in legends colours hatchback, Was it the one in VIC or TAS, either way I think someone is trying to push price's up, Has someone lost the plot or no cents and all dollars, If i had that sort of cash i think an A9X race car is the go and there has been some great race cars forsale, Ive heard a story that Biante has there cars up forsale, A9X hatch and a very low milage 4 door.

I think there have been a few people over the years pushing prices up and setting new benchmarks. I would have liked to have seen the blue one for sale.

if it was owned by a guy in perth not esperance it was a fairly nice car but had been restored some years ago and was not completely original, been repainted etc and still missing pieces. was actually for sale for 70 for a long time and then 75. the guy reckons a9x's were going to flop soon and i think the previous owner was trying to come up with the moula to get it back. he sold it for 30 i was told, 4 years ago.
