I just rang Repco and they gave me the prices on the following part numbers. Tell me what you think.
Master cylinder P7210 - $138
V8 Brake Booster VH2468BK - $52.50
The master cylinder sounds right, but what about the booster? Sounds too good to be true. Any thoughts?

They differ only in the outlet configuration
The rear brakes plumb up to the larger thread port
So make sure you get the right one to suit your car (P7210)
As for the booster part #'s
Typical Repco wrong again
VH2468 is just one of the diaphragms that go into the booster
Thats fine if your rebuilding it yourself and have all the rest of the parts
The correct part # for LH doublew unit is VH329
You must have the right unit to exchange though or there will be a penalty or they may not sell it to you
If you don't have the right core best find one first ( in reconditionable condition)
Try BHSS for a recon unit or to get yours ovehauled

Secondly, is there anything I can buy or prepare for now if I decide to get Hoppers in the future? The brakes are getting a full overhaul now so I thought I'd better ask.
Lastly, would anyone know the best way to polish a master cylinder? I got a buffing wheel at work and I'm guessing something like autosol or cutting compound should bring it up nice - any ideas?
Thanks again !!

Would like a stronger pedal, will upgrade the rotors soon, but want another master and booster that is appropriate for the job.
I only got a 6cyl booster on my 308 and would like to fit a dual diaphragm for the nice chaps at Vicroads.
Cheers

I notice it has, I'm believe, some sort of anti-corrosion lubricant through it - what is the best way to flush it all out? Metho? Brake fluid?
Metho

Nothing else needs to be done to the master till you put disc rears on. Then its just a valve that needs removing from the back circuit

Thats the way....... rub rub rub
Do someone like hopper stoppers make new dual diaphragm boosters that require no mods to fit an LH, by that i mean. do they make a new booster and master kit that fit straight in without mods and comes with a engineers cert or relevant info for RTA.
Hoppers can do an adapted master cylinder/booster I'm sure. I know they have done a 7" double diaph unit for an LJ V8 that needed some extra rocker cover clearance. Doubltful they have engineered it though.
However bear in mind the 7" double won't have much more power than a 9" single.
If you really want a powerful double you need to scout out wreckers for the right one and then rebuild it.
