Gday all, I looking to put a 308 into my LH in replace of the 253. it already has a aussie 4 speed in it, which will be staying. the 308 block is a turbo pattern and im tossing up weather to  get another block or having it redrilled to suit the 4 speed or using an adapter. Is anyone using an adapter and what would be the best to do with the block. cheers

Your choices are find a trauma pattern block (maybe free swap for yours, most people value the turbo pattern blocks a bit more), new bellhousing($50 -$600 depending on your resourcefulness ) or redrill your current block ($280-400 depending on who you trust).
An adaptor plate is not a well thought of option.
I chose to redrill mine as the engine was complete and I was going the other way, tri to turbo.

thanks, I have gone and sourced a short motor  trimatic patern. virgin bore with sump, crank rods and pistons still fitted. $250. I will end up selling the turbo block at some stage. Cheers
