Hi guys,

I have a UC Torana hatch, just got back from the engineer and he has asked for specs on an A9X Hatchback Torana rim and tyre sizes, and track widths.

I have no idea where to start so I thought I would talk with like minded Torana  lovers, and see if after 4 years I can finally get my Torry on the road.

I have modified my vehicle and have a cut down 10 bolt out of a WB ute, and HQ front end, with 9" rear American racing rims with 275/40/17 and 7" front with 235/45/17

the engineer won't pass it until he has some specs to go off, so I need some help with this, If anyone has info it would be much appreciated.

Dino

14x6 steel rims with -1/4" (-6mm) offset. Tyres were DR70H14. GMH quoted a diameter of 625mm, the metric equivelant is a 195/70R14. Track was 3" wider than a stock Torana, but i'm not 100% sure on that.

Thanks guys,

Is there any formal literature that I can present to the engineer. If not I will run with this. I didn't realise engineering would be so difficult.

I will let you know how I go.

yes, I am sure there are GMH Bulletins with this info. At the very least CAMS documents.

Dr Terry's 60 years of Holden book has the A9X track figures on page 338. His book should be sufficient evidence for engineering.

Front 57.9"   ( 1470 mm)

Rear 56.82" ( 1443 mm )

There is also a L34 service bulletin that lists the track on page 4 as follows.

Front 57.89" (1470.4 mm)

Rear 56.82 (1443.2 mm)

Thanks to Graham we now have this for everyones collection.
