Don't forget that running pre AU Ford wheels will increase your track by around 25mm per side.

AU style or Jap wheels are much closer to Torana offset.

Great feed back so I am best to keep it standard width with ford pattern as I was hoping to run 10 under the rear and 8 or 8.5 on the front. Can I redrill the HQ front discs to ford pattern or do I try and find a set of discs of a ford.

If I go standard width are the shock mounts a problem?

Do I take the measurement of the diff with the discs on or off?

flange to flange..ie discs off
but considering vk borgies go for 600+ these days your better off selling it and putting the proceeds
into the vn/skyline/9" conversion...it will work out the same $$$ in the long run and you get a better
diff to boot

What about shortened 10 bolt, BW centre, VN short axles redrilled to Ford or HQ ?

Not sure on available ratios but a Toyota Crown diff is the right width, Ford pattern and 4 pinion.

I've got 2.

They're either 3.9 or 4.1 but I think there are other ratios that fit from the IRS Supras etc.

Or you can use Hilux also. The early G142's are the perfect width with pre AU Ford rims.

Got 2 of those also.

Do I make my diff width with the discs on or from diff only?

Can I redrill the HQ front discs to ford pattern?

Yep. Or use P76 rotors for no change (much) in track width.

Yes, just need some spacers. CRS sell the kit to do it. But you really need HK-WB stubs so the calipers work, or you have to machine the P76 discs down like you do with HQ discs on LH-UC Torana/Sunbird stubs.
