how good are the facet apart from being noisy?
will they supply enough?
just browsing ebay.
facet are only good for small engines 200 to 250 hp.
i should be over that.

All you asked is what kinda pump to feed a 650 holley?
Pretty easy to feed one sitting on the bench, a bit more info might be required if you actually want some usable info?

If your running a 650 you probably have less than 400 hp so as Bomber says a hi volume mechanical pump would do the job... or if your keen to stay electric... use a small pump as a lift pump to get the fuel out of the tank... like the facet maybe... then use the Carter to push it forward... maybe that will give you more mounting options.

A lot more than 400HP can be made through a 650cfm holley...... Best I have managed was 469 at the wheels (522 engine) using a 660 center squirter. Not on topic but just saying it can be done.
In the LH I had I mounted the Carters in the diff cavity, just either side of the center. Away from the 3" tailpipes yet still left clearance for the diff itself.
The other compact option is an inline injection style pump like a Bosh 044 or similar but you'll need a good regulator.

.5lb/HP-hour on pump fuel or there abouts.
Petrol weighs about 6.2lb/gal.
So for example, if your making 450hp that is 225lb/hr you need.
225/6.2 = 36gph.
36gph = 163 liters per hour.
163 lph = 2.7 liters per minute....
If you actually know what kinda power your looking at, besides "650 holley on a stroked 308" then you can work it out properly....but theres some rough numbers for you, give or take a bit.
Cheers.

ok i just stuck with the carter 100gph 4601hp that i was running.
located it through the floor just under the back seat.
it will do until i can find a pump equivalent to a holley blue or this carter that doesnt have to be mounted verticaly.

I have had a lot of success with the Pierburg style pumps, 6psi, small and quiet. Flow enough to run 11.0's at 121mph in an HQ with standard fuel lines. Fit really nicely under the back seat area.

I was buying them through Ashdowns (an auto-electrical wholesaler).
