gday all,
I have just painted the corner of the Torana again in Glacier White. Thank goodness this time i got a pretty flat finish.
What should i use to get it nice and smooth and shiny? I know i need to leave it a while to harden.
Also what should i use to deal with the bumpy finish i have around the front windscreen that i also painted with a can? Its very very bumpy, i think cause the can got to empty :(
thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
For starters,
What kind of paint have you used?
The length of time needed to harden depends,
on the paint type and the temperature.
The bumpy finish I would guess is what is termed 'orange peel',
one cause of this is too lean application of paint.
To make nice smooth and shiny,
Wet rub with 1500 grade wet and dry,
could then use 2000 to make polishing easier
Use a buffing compund,
and a buffer if you have one available,
if not can be done by hand,
once buffed use a hand finish polish.
the really bumpy bit might have to sand using a block to get smooth again,
and repaint,
then use the above to get nice shiny finish.
Cheers
Chris.
