hi fellas i just found out that the dealer code on my slr 5000 is the code that holden used for there promotional cars (many thanks to hg350 and millissa)
does anyone out there know what this means??? could my car have been used in some holden adds in magazines or something back in 74 when it was built do any of you older guys remember an azure blue slr 5000 in any holden adds or at any car shows when they were new

I have never seen one in that colour used as a promo car, but that doesn't mean anything, it may well have been. It's not in any magazines of the day that I have, but it may have been a show car or something. You could try contacting the RTA and finding out the name of the original owner. It may not say GMH , it may be listed as something else, like AVIS cars are, they were always WTH PTY LTD. The car listed by Holden as the promo A9X was not used for promo by GMH, so anything is posible.
