From memory the HQ rear lower trailing arms are longer than the Torana.

I was under the impression that they were interchangeable so got the tape measure out this arvo and had a look.

The Torana ones are longer actually, by approx. 100mm.

Couldn't be bothered checking the tops as the HZ is pretty low but I'm pretty sure they are the same ?

There is not much chance of the wheel fitting in the wheel arch with lower arms 100 mm shorter.

I had some Toyota Crown ones around here somewhere. I had a bit of a look for them this arvo, will try harder tomorrow. They are fairly long if I remember rightly.

Good boy, way to stay on the will. :spoton:

I just measured an HQ arm with good bushes (centered) 558mm.

The LX Torana trailing arms are 657 mm to the centres.

Sorry, can't find the Crown ones. I've either thrown them out or they're in the back of my old Crown wagon over at my mates place.

But looking at the chassis specs in the manual I'd say they are around the same as HQ - WB as it is 528mm from front LCA mount to axle centreline.

ps. The Crown ones might be worth investigating for a lowered HQ - WB.

The width and basic design is very similar.

Just checked, both 60mm space in diff bracket.

The Crown rear mounting point is not far back from the centreline so total length maybe 540 - 550mm ?
