Hi,

Just thought I'd throw up some pics of my recently completed LC GTR. Shrek took me 8 long years and is nearly to a point where I'll be happy with it for a while. Those of you who have been around the forums for a while may remember it when it was bare metal with not a nut or bolt on it! It runs what is essentially a fairly close to XU1 spec Blue 202, Celica 5 speed and Banjo 3.55:1 diff. Other than that it's had a full respray, custom retrim and Pedders suspension with a tidied up but still practical undercarige. Hmmm... Sounds easy when you say it like that!

There's still things to do, it's not running the best and it's missing a couple of chrome moulds on the outside. I also want to do plenty more tidying up in the engine bay and fix up some bits and pieces in the interior, but I'll get there! Since these pics were taken on the weekend I've added custom green number plates which really lift the car. Other than that it's as is in the pics, filthy engine bay and all! Anyway, here's the pics-

Very nice mate! I reckon you have done an awesome job.

Last time you posted i remember you having some problems with guards scrubbing on the front i think. How did you fix that?

Thanks for the kind words everyone, much appreciated. B)

Drew- Unless something completely unforseen happens it'll be there! As it happens the show is on the weekend of my birthday which is great, it'll be a top weekend! I can only assume work will want me to take some snaps and write a bit of a yarn while I'm there, I'll call yourself or Andrew (hmmm confusing when all 3 of us have the same name! :P ) closer to the show and have a chat about that.

Kudu- The colour isn't an original Holden colour, I picked it out of a sample book at the panel shop after much deliberation!

Steve- I had the gaurds rolled with one of those fandangle gaurd rolling jiggers. I was pretty nervous about the paint to begin with but was sick of driving it with stockies on the front, was getting "Hey nice car, what's the go with the wheels" all the time! My car was only the second one the bloke had done and I was really impressed with the job he did.

Cheers,
Andrew

Just spent a fair bit of time on the car over the holidays mucking around with the carbs trying to get the thing to run a bit better and I'm actually starting to win for once! Still have a big list of jobs to do on it and give it a really good detail, but I'm now 90% sure it'll be at Kandos which I'm really excited about. It still seems to have a fuel supply problem up top, but I'm thinking that this may be more due to the stock fuel pump just not being up to the job.

Also have the moulds on the outside to fit, some interior tidy ups and some hell sqeaky brakes to try and rectify, but for once in it's life I'm quietly confident it should be at a show, look pretty tidy and maybe even run alright! How good's that?! :tease:

Here's some new pics taken at Kandos in January ("new" is a relative term!). At the moment the car is out of rego, just saving some cash to get it back on the road.

just a quick question, who did your carpet?

Mate the trimmer actually sourced it so I'd say that it's just Knox or one of the other molded carpet mobs. Me and a mate installed it. Badly.
