hi guys, just wanted to warn you all that i put a car aside that i had resprayed and stalled on only to check the fuel pump and it didnt go (electric). went to the wreckers and got another one, great, back home to install, olny to pull out the unit from the tank to find it totally gutted with rust. now at the time the car was a runner and thought nothing of it to leave it alone, now i need a new tank and poss lines as well.
been sitting around two years.

best to keep your fuel tank full of fuel at all times , this way no room for condensation ..

^ it was half full, the pick up is junk the pump is junk all covered in brown and rust.

petrol floats on water, so most cars have some water at bottom of tank,
depending on fuel supply,I have had trouble with EFI vehicles that have filters blocked with dirty, rusty water.
cut one open next time you change one
if you leave for any length of time best to drain and seal

Or it can be your excuse to take out and fit new fuel cell or drop tank
