Another interesting photo for you from my Bathurst album. I believe this is 1977. But I think Grice/Gardner actually raced their 4 door A9X? Can someone confirm these details?

Great photo. They did run the hatchback at Bathurst in 1977, it led the race for a few laps in the early stages. The race is now out on DVD.

Interesting rims and wear on the paint on the driver's door. Nice conditions to work in as well, rubbish & mud etc.

Love these photos. This really was true production car racing - the race Sunday buy Monday actually really worked because the cars racing where the cars you could basically buy. To be seen driving an L34,A9X or Fraud HO really did mean you brought the racecar (so to speak)
Looking at these photos hell its obvious that the on-board air jacks just always never worked .
100mph tape on the rear flare Yep Gricy was driving.

If they had of stuck to Group C Rules, and the SS Dore and Ford XR8 were raced at Bathurst, and they sold cars like they did under Group C rules I think there would of been bigger sales for Ford and Holden, the change to V8 Supercars might still have Fans, but the old school passion for the cars has been lost, no wonder Ford and Holden are gone.
