G'day all.

Looking for some help in identifying where the following bolts were used. Over the years, I have stripped LH/LX and UC Toranas, and recently I cleaned up a collection of panel / door bolts and had them plated.

Now I am reassembling my LX SL/R, and want to use the appropriate bolts in the correct location. Only problem is, I can't remember if there is a particular place for certain bolts.

I seem to have 5 types of bolt with the same thread, and differing bolt heads.

PIC #1:

1. Bonnet hinge bolts - all good

2. Recessed head with flat washer only

3. Recessed head with spring washer only

4. Flat head with spring washer only

PIC #2:

ALL. Recessed head with flat washer only, the underside of which has a serrated type of edge face.

Can anyone confirm if Holden used these certain bolts in specific places? Or was it a little bit random?

Cheers!

2.....Guard bolts
3.....Door hinge bolts
4.....boot lock and bonnet catch bolts

I hope this helps

Hi Notna,

Old thread, but any chance of throwing up your inbox info as we'll? The bolts as I removed them don't match the legend above. My flat head bolts with spring washers were in my door hinges for instance.

Any more info would be great, as I need to get them zinced soon. Also, can anyone recommend a good zincer? I am in the Hornsby area.

The door bolt recessed and flat head question was talked about before. Maybe try a search but it may have been the door bolts were different to the bolts on the body.

If I recall correctly,

Door hinge to Body = flat head with washer (bolt 4 from the left)

Door hinge to Door = crowned head with washer (bolt 3 from the left)

Picture 2 = seat bolts

Thanks guys. My flat heads (#4) were hinges to the door, but it has been painted before by somebody else so, buggered if I know if that's right.

I will search more.

So has anyone worked out why the different head style for the hinge bolts? The bolts seem identical apart from the shape of the head.
